Driving Directions to the HI Santa Monica/ HI Travel Store:

Take the Santa Monica Freeway (10) west to Santa Monica and exit on 5th Street

5th Street is one-way as you exit the freeway, go two blocks and turn left on Broadway Street

Turn right on Second Street

The HI-Travel Store is located in the middle of the block on the left-hand side of the street, directly across from City Parking Structure #6 (2 hours of free parking). Park your car and cross the street to the HI-Travel Centre.

From Amtrak arrival at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles:

Option 1: Find Patsaouras Plaza at Union Station. Take the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus-Express #10 to Santa Monica Blvd. and 4th St. in Santa Monica. Fare is $1.75. Walk to the hostel at 1434 2nd St. (intersection 2nd and Santa Monica).

OR

Option 2: Take MTA bus #33 from Los Angeles and Arcadia Streets, to 2nd and Broadway in Santa Monica. Walk half a block north to the hostel. Fare is $1.35.

From Greyhound Bus Terminal in downtown Los Angeles: Take MTA bus #60 West to 7th and Spring Streets. Transfer to MTA bus #33 and take it to 2nd and Broadway in Santa Monica. Walk half a block north to the hostel. Fare is $1.60, transfer included.

From LAX:

Option 1: From your terminal, locate the signs for “shared ride vans.” Super Shuttle (royal blue vans) and Prime Time Shuttle (burgundy vans) are available for $14 to $17.

OR

Option 2: Take “LAX Shuttle Bus C” from your terminal to the airport transit center and then take Santa Monica Big Blue Bus #3 to Broadway and 4th St. Walk two blocks west and half a block north to the hostel. Fare is $0.75.

By car: Take the 91 Riverside Freeway to Fullerton and exit on Harbor Blvd. Turn left on Harbor and travel 2.5 miles to 1700 N. Harbor Blvd. Turn into Brea Dam Park, which is located next to Golfers Paradise Driving Range. Drive up the hill to the hostel.

From LAX:

By Shuttle: There are several van shuttle services operating from the airport. Go to the Ground Transportation Desk for information. Prices are $30 for the first person, then $9 for every additional person. There are extra fees for bicycles and surfboards.

By Taxi: Taxis are more expensive than shuttle vans, but they are more convenient and usually a faster way to the hostel. Using a taxi may be cost-effective if there are three or more people traveling to the hostel together. The taxi fare from the airport is approximately $45-$50.

We are located in the South Bay/Harbor area of Los Angeles, 20 miles south of LAX, 25 miles from downtown Los Angeles-Union Station, and 10 miles from downtown Long Beach.

By car: Take the 110 Harbor Freeway to San Pedro. Exit on Gaffey St. Turn left and drive five miles to Angels Gate Park, which is just after 36th St. As you enter the park, the hostel is located in the buildings to your left.

From LAX:

By Public Transport: Take the free airport shuttle marked "M," "Green," or "Special" to the Green Line Metro Station. Take the Green Line Metro train to the 110 Harbor Freeway stop. Transfer with a Metro ticket to MTA bus #446, going south to the Korean Bell.
